Beaded Buffalo

Prairie Star

May 4th, 2008 · No Comments

With so much urban light pollution, it’s hard to find places where you can see the night sky in all its dark, inky glory. One night I found myself on my back deep in North Dakota’s Theodore Roosevelt National Park, dumb-founded and slack-jawed at the spectacle overhead. In 40-odd years of life on this planet, I’d never seen the Milky Way stretch across the sky like a well-defined highway choked with stars.

Wonder and amazement supplanted the urge to sleep, and I stared into the heavens until sunrise. This bag, its design inspired by that night, measures 7″ x 10.” The back is soft-fur buffalo.

Price: $700
